Equipment details below:

Lowe Alpine Manaslu Backpack M–55:70

The Manaslu is made with durable yet lightweight mini ripstop fabric, with a hard-wearing Nylon base. Side and internal compression straps, and forward pull hip belt adjustment ensure a stable carry and a comfortable fit, however heavy your load. An extendable lid increases the volume by an extra 15 litres, while external daisy chain lash points allow external storage.

Rab Kangri Gortex Jacket

Windproof and breathable, the Kangri GTX will keep you dry in the most severe downpours and provide protection from howling winds. Additional ventilation via deep, two-way pit zips allows for effective temperature regulation in demanding terrain. An elasticated hem and drawcord waist allow you to adjust the fit and seal in the heat when the temperature plummets. The Kangri GTX features a fully adjustable mountain hood that fits closely around the face, sheltering you from wind and rain but still allowing good vision and head-turn. It can be cinched around the face to avoid flapping, has a laminated wired peak that provides great coverage and a fleece lined chin guard which eliminates friction. In poor conditions the hem and hood can be quickly adjusted with one hand. The jacket has a two-way YKK® AquaGuard® VISLON® ® front zip with an internal storm flap, two rucksack friendly hand pockets and an internal secure zipped pocket perfect for a phone or GPS.

Rab Ascent Pro Sleeping Bag

Warm and protective, the Ascent Pro 600 has a generous wide fit, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep for the weary mountain explorer. Filled with 600g of 650FP duck down, it is a warm sleeping bag, with space to wear extra, bulkier layers inside if the temperature suddenly drops.

Temperature rating: ISO EN: Comfort: -2°C (28°F), Limit: -8°C (18°F), Extreme: -27°C (-17°F)

With Pertex® Quantum Pro wind and water resistant outer and hydrophobic duck down, it copes well with wind, condensation, and damp conditions, ideal for an exposed bivi ledge. Warm enough to deal with plummeting temperatures it’s a great all-round adventure, three season sleeping bag. Built with trapezoid shaped, boxwall baffles that stack neatly together, the down inside is encouraged to fully loft, maximising insulation and reducing the appearance of cold spots. Hand-filled in the UK, all our down bags benefit from never having had their down compressed before use, maintaining the down’s loft and warmth.

The Ascent Pro has a ¾ length main zip with a down filled internal baffle and 3D shaped neck baffle, both designed to limit any heat escaping. There’s a zipped pocket inside, ideal for stashing your headlamp within easy reach, and with its angled foot box you can be sure of comfy position to sleep. Exploring with a partner or want extra space? Pick up a left and a right zipped bag and you can zip them together.
